My goal this summer was to do a lot of formal reflecting: reflecting backwards on this past school year to move forward on building a stronger Library program next year.

But, during the last week of school, I put a ton of miles on my feet. I was checking the extra carts for returned Library books. I was going across the building to check on Chromebook check in progress. I ended up angering the plantar fascia in my foot. Honestly, I have been dealing with Plantar Fasciitis for 18 years. This was worse than ever before. By the end of the last week of school, I literally couldn’t walk. Using a borrowed scooter, with my foot in a boot, I ended up wrapping up the year. Slowly.

It’s amazing how much more energy everything takes, though, when your body is fighting chronic pain. For days, I could barely walk around the house. A run into the store or to bring a child to an appointment wiped me out for a day. Two weeks in, I finally see the top of the hill. I can move without grabbing onto a wall or crutch. My mobility and freedom are returning.
My simple goals this summer are to catch up on some scrapbooking. I have a graduate next year. This has been something I have been able to do with a painful foot. I am months behind on my garden. And, my house calls out for a cleaning.

Between the at home tasks and my goals for next year, I need to figure out a better organization system for my to dos. My daily to do list is too long and disorganized, as it includes next year plans, too. I need something for breaking down “now,” “soon,” and “sometime” projects. I pulled up some to do lists and project management samples in Canva. I plan to take a look at them and craft my own to do system.
Right now, I have To Do List Block. I hope that I can create a reflective, forward thinking plan that isn’t overwhelming.
Goals for today? Check on the scrapbook pages that I imported last night. And, take a look at the gardens I have ignored for a month.
